Welcome to Amsterdam Chen Tai Chi & Chi Gong‘s 10 week Tai Chi Beginners Course :).
This is a weekly class on Wednesday evenings from 19.30. We start on Wednesday 9th January 2019 at the Therapeutisch Activiteiten Centrum Amsterdam. Open to people of all abilities and experience, everyone is welcome!

About Tai Chi and Chi Gong
Tai Chi and Chi Gong are ancient forms of Chinese exercise which have been practised for hundreds of years. The soft yet strong, flowing movements, combined with meditative breathing and mind focus, help to develop a deep sense of connection within our bodies and minds. Through regular practice this can develop a strong and flexible body and a calm and quiet mind.
Amsterdam Chen Tai Chi & Chi Gong focuses on the teachings of Chen style which is more dynamic and powerful than lots of other styles of Tai Chi. The Chen style is the oldest form of Tai Chi ever practised. It uses explosive movements as well as the soft and flowing type which gives it as a practice, tremendous potential to develop and evolve ones body and mind as a Tai Chi practitioner.
About Sophie your instructor
Sophie Fagan is a Tai chi instructor from the UK now living in Amsterdam. She has studied Tai Chi for over ten years in a variety of settings. Having trained and taught at Tai Chi schools in Bristol UK as well as deepening her training at The Wudang Gong Fu Academy in China. This range of experience and inspiration has fuelled the enthusiasm and knowledge inherent in her teaching.

Discovering Tai chi has changed all that, helping me control my stress levels and providing me with that vital space to let go and relax. In turn it has deepened the connection between my mind and body – developing good core strength and finding beauty in the movements, which are created in the Tai Chi forms. I love nothing more than to share the teachings of Tai Chi with those around me and to witness their development and learning.”
This 10 week course
As a new student you will train for 1 hour 19.30 – 20.30
The cost is €110 for the entire 10 week block.
You will need to complete a registration form in order to enrol into the school. It will be wonderful for you to join our community :).
You will train for 1.5 hours 19.30 – 21.00. The first hour we will train with new students, going back to basics and the beginning – always a great thing to do! This leaves the remaining 30 minutes to focus on the foundation exercises, internal development and detailed choreography of the form.
The cost is €145 for the entire 10 week block
It is also possible to train twice per week and join the Monday class too. This is when your Tai Chi will really start to develop. If you have the motivation and time you are very welcome to do this with discounts available on the course fees.
p.s Our training does not stop after the 10 weeks! We simply continue to grow and learn together training is ongoing with course fees due every 10 weeks approximately.
