10 week Tai Chi Class

Tai Chi and Chi Gong are ancient forms of Chinese exercise which have been practised for hundreds of years. The soft yet strong, flowing movements, combined with meditative breathing and mind focus, help to develop a deep sense of connection within our bodies and minds. This is a 10 week Tai Chi course open to all people of all abilities and experience. Everyone is welcome!

Welcome to  Amsterdam Chen Tai Chi & Chi Gong  

This is a weekly class on Wednesdays 20:30 at the  Therapeutic Activities Center Amsterdam . Open to people or all abilities and experience, everyone is welcome!

About Tai Chi and Chi Gong
Tai Chi and Chi Gong are ancient forms of Chinese exercise that have been practiced for hundreds of years. The soft yet strong, flowing movements, combined with meditative breathing and mind focus, help  to develop a deep sense of connection within our bodies and minds. Through regular practice, this can be done in a flexible and calm way.
Amsterdam Chen Tai Chi & Chi Gong  on the teachings of Chen style which is more dynamic and powerful than other styles of Tai Chi. The Chen style is the oldest form of Tai Chi ever practiced. It uses lots of explosive movements as well as the soft and flowing type which gives it as a practice, tremendous potential to develop and evolve as a Tai Chi practitioner.

This 10 week course

New Students
As a new student you will train for 1 hour 19.30 – 20.30
The cost is € 110 for the entire 10 week block
You will need to complete a registration form in order to enrol into the school. It will be wonderful for you to join our community :).

Registered Students
You will train for 1.5 hours 19.30 – 21.00. The first hour we will train with new students, going back to basics and the beginning – always a great thing to do! This leaves the remaining 30 minutes to focus on the foundation exercises, internal development and detailed choreography of the form.
The cost is € 145 for the entire 10 week block

It is also possible to train twice a week and join the Monday class too. This is when your Tai Chi really starts to develop. If you have the motivation and time you are very welcome.

ps Our training does not stop after the 10 weeks! We simply continue to grow and learn together with course fees due every 10 weeks approximately.

About Sophie your instructor
Sophie Fagan is a Tai chi instructor from the UK now living in Amsterdam. She has studied Tai Chi for a year in a variety of settings. Having trained and taught at Tai Chi schools in Bristol UK as well as deepening training at The Wudang Gong Fu Academy in China. This enthusiasm and knowledge is inherent in re teaching.
