What would life look like if you were your biggest ally instead of your worst critic?
In this 2-day transformative retreat we will explore how practicing compassion can help us turn towards our struggles with courage, develop resilience, and discover what we truly need. Many of us may use self-criticism as motivation, but this way of relating to ourselves is harsh and unsustainable. Compassion offers another way.
Compassion is beyond being kind to ourselves – it gives us the courage to turn towards our suffering and hold our difficult emotions so that we can heal. When we cultivate compassion, we connect more deeply with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. It helps us answer the question “What do I really need?” and gives us tools to problem-solve, work towards our goals and respond to others in more helpful ways.
The deep winter of January can be challenging for many of us. This is the season of slow transition, when we’re called to honor our need for rest while nurturing the seeds of our intentions for the year ahead. It’s an ideal time to ask ourselves what we truly need and to develop skills that help us become our most caring selves – connected to our inner wisdom and to the greater whole.
